Privacy Policy for MissFire
Last updated: June 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how MissFire ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the MissFire mobile application (the "Service"). MissFire is an OBD-II diagnostics application focused on misfire monitoring, telemetry, and diagnostic workflows.
1. Core Privacy Model
MissFire is designed as a local-first app. Core diagnostic information is stored on your device for app functionality. We do not require account creation for core use.
2. Data We Process
The app may process and store the following categories of data on your device:
- OBD-II diagnostic data, including DTC scan results and freeze frame snapshots.
- Misfire monitoring values and related telemetry records (for example RPM, speed, temperatures, and sensor values).
- Driving cycle history, user preferences, profile settings, and calibration values.
- Data you choose to export or share using built-in export features.
3. Bluetooth and Device Permissions
MissFire uses Bluetooth and related permissions to connect with compatible OBD adapters. Depending on platform version, operating systems may associate Bluetooth scanning with location-related permissions. We use these permissions only for diagnostic connectivity and app operation.
4. Third-Party Services and Platforms
MissFire may rely on platform providers such as Apple App Store and Google Play for distribution, payments, and updates. If you use those services, their privacy policies apply to data they process.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not intentionally provide your diagnostic data to data brokers or advertising networks.
5. Data Sharing by User Action
If you choose to export, copy, or share diagnostic reports, prompts, or logs, that data is shared based on your action. You are responsible for where you send shared data.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Data remains on your device until you delete it. You can delete app data by using in-app reset and wipe controls, or by uninstalling the app.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical measures for app integrity, but no method of storage or transmission is guaranteed 100% secure.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
