Terms of Service for MissFire

Last updated: July 15, 2026

By downloading, accessing, or using the MissFire mobile application (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

SAFETY, DATA RELIANCE, AND PROFESSIONAL USE DISCLAIMER: MissFire is a vehicle diagnostics assistance tool. It is not a replacement for professional mechanical inspection, certified emissions testing, or manufacturer service procedures. OBD-II and GPS data (including speed and all other telemetry or diagnostic information) may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, or interpreted incorrectly. Do not rely on app output as unquestioned fact for safety-critical, legal, compliance, driving, repair, or financial decisions. You must independently verify information and use your own judgment. Do not operate the app in a way that distracts driving. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

1. Intended Use

MissFire is intended for OBD-II diagnostics, telemetry inspection, and misfire monitoring. You agree to use the Service only in compliance with applicable laws and in a safe manner.

2. Acceptable Use Restrictions

3. Local Data and User Responsibility

MissFire is designed as local-first software. Diagnostic records are primarily stored on your device. You are responsible for backups and exports if you need long-term retention.

4. Device and Adapter Compatibility

MissFire depends on third-party hardware, firmware, and vehicle ECU behavior (for example ELM327-compatible adapters). We do not guarantee identical behavior across all adapter models, clone devices, vehicles, or firmware revisions.

5. Data Accuracy and User Verification Duty

You acknowledge that all OBD-II, GPS, speed, and other values shown by the Service are informational estimates only and may contain errors or omissions. MissFire does not guarantee correctness, precision, timeliness, completeness, fitness for a particular use, or legal admissibility of any data or interpretation.

6. Purchases and Store Billing

If paid features are offered, billing and payment processing are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not receive or store your full payment details.

7. Service Updates and Availability

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service at any time, including diagnostics features, compatibility layers, or UI functionality.

8. No Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MISSFIRE AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, VEHICLE DOWNTIME, OR COMMERCIAL LOSS, ARISING FROM USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

THIS LIMITATION INCLUDES, WITHOUT LIMITATION, CLAIMS ARISING FROM INACCURATE OR MISSING OBD-II, GPS, SPEED, TELEMETRY, OR DIAGNOSTIC DATA, AND FROM ANY ACTION OR INACTION TAKEN IN RELIANCE ON SUCH DATA.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
